About The Event
Join us at the Friendship Park in Queens Garden for an afternoon of reflection and community, as we celebrate hope, harmony and community at the Bunbury Garden Labyrinth.
The afternoon offers an array of Japanese themed activities - making koi kites, listening to Japanese music, trying on kimonos, lolly drops from Kite Kinetics, a smoke ceremony, and painting/decorating your lanterns in the spring sunshine.
Decorating Your Lantern – A Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Pre-order Your LanternIn the next step, you’ll be able to pre-order your lantern. You can choose between two options:
A floating lantern, which will be released as part of our ceremony (these will float out on the water and won’t be returned), or
A take-home lantern, which is yours to keep and will not be floated during the ceremony.
Tickets
Lantern to FLOAT
This lantern includes a floating base, to be launched into the estuary during the festival. These cannot be taken home after the ceremony.

Non-Floating Lantern Take Home
This ticket entitles the holder to one lantern to decorate and take home. The floating base is not included, but you do get a lantern stand.
